Habit Tracking Is No Longer “All or Nothing”: Kadō
Most of the habit tracking applications use the same system:
You did it every day → the series continues.
You missed a day → serial reset.
This system creates motivation in some people, but on the contrary, it can create a "It's broken anyway" psychology in some people.
Kadō is a new iPhone/iPad habit tracking application that approaches this problem differently.
Kadō's main difference habit score, that is, focusing on the habit score.
Missing a day doesn't completely waste months of progress. The system changes the score gradually based on your recent consistency.
For example, you have been exercising regularly for 60 days and you missed one day.
Classic system:
60 → 0
Kadō approach:
60-day history still matters.
This makes habit formation more realistic.
The privacy side is one of the strongest points of the application.
Kadō:
-
Doesn't want an account.
-
Does not use advertising.
-
Not collecting telemetry.
-
Keeps the data on the device.
-
Optionally syncs via your own iCloud account.
-
Supports CSV and JSON export.
-
Open source.
Moreover in version 1.11 appearance options have been improved and innovations have been made regarding the personalization of widgets.
So the app tells you:
“All your hard work didn't go to waste just because you missed a day.”
This may be a more sustainable approach, especially for those who want to form a habit of exercising, reading, drinking water, meditating or working out daily.
