“If you are using Zoom and looking for an alternative, let me show you Jitsi Meet.

The nice thing about this program is:

Open source.

Free.

Screen sharing is available.

You are having a meeting.

You are chatting.

You can share presentations.

You can even set up your own Jitsi server.

Now here's an important change you need to know about in 2026.

Meeting time on Jitsi's public meet.jit.si service is limited to 95 minutes as of October 9, 2026.

So it is no longer correct to describe it as 'free unlimited meetings'.

But if 95 minutes is enough for you, that's fine.

It is also very easy to use for people attending the meeting.

There are Android and iPhone applications on the phone side.

If you want more control on the company or team side, being able to run your own Jitsi server is also an important advantage.

So if you are looking for a Zoom alternative, definitely add Jitsi to your list, especially on the open source side.”

Advantages
