Don't Leave the News to Algorithms: Follow Your Own Sources with Feeder
Platform: Android
Application: Feeder
Fee: Free and open source.
Source and download information: Feeder F-Droid application page
When you follow the agenda on social media, you may encounter content highlighted by the algorithm instead of the news you want to see. If you want to regularly follow specific technology sites, blogs or publishers, RSS readers offer a different method.
Feeder is an open source RSS, Atom and JSONFeed reader for Android. By adding supported publication addresses, you can see new articles in a single list.
The application can run on your device without being tied to a traditional online account system. It can also sync content when connected to the internet, supports offline reading, and offers notifications for new content. F-Droid
What is RSS?
RSS is a method that allows you to follow new content on a website through a standard feed. If the site supports it, you add the RSS address to the reader; When new articles arrive, you can see them all without going to separate sites.
What can you do with Feeder?
- You can add the RSS addresses of the technology sites you follow.
- You can see new posts in a single stream.
- You can sync contents when there is an internet connection.
- You can read supported articles offline.
- You can move your source list to another RSS reader with OPML import and export options.
- You can use notifications for new content. F-Droid
How to use?
- Get Feeder from the official project link or via F-Droid.
- Find the RSS address of the site you want to follow.
- Add address to Feeder.
- Wait for resources to be updated.
- Read new content via streaming.
- If necessary, back up its resources with the OPML file or transfer it to another application.
For example, if you follow five different technology sites, you can review the new articles in a single stream instead of opening them all separately every morning.
Current information: Feeder version 2.22.0 was added to the F-Droid catalog on August 5, 2026. This release lists bug fixes and performance improvements. F-Droid
Advantages: Allows you to follow resources, read offline and export your resource list without opening an account.
Disadvantages: Finding the RSS address can be confusing for new users at first. Additionally, not every website offers RSS; some streams may only show a summary of the article rather than the entire article.
