Can You Make Money by Designing Social Media Without Being a Designer?
It can be easy for a business to open a social media account. But preparing regular, readable and brand-appropriate content every week is another task. If you are interested in visual design, you can try to provide services by preparing social media posts.
First learn the basic visual hierarchy using design tools like Canva. Title, description, image and spaces must be compatible with each other. Using too much text and color does not make the design better.
Step 1: Select an industry. For example, restaurants, real estate agents or personal trainers.
Step 2: Prepare six sample posts for your chosen industry. Create an informational post, a campaign design, a Q&A visual, and a few different types of content. State them clearly as case studies.
Step 3: Package your service. For example, you can create a package that includes a certain number of post designs, story images, and a revision allowance. Clearly state whether copywriting and sharing management are included in the package.
Step 4: Reach potential customers. Examine the business's existing posts and identify an area where you can truly benefit. Present your portfolio in a short message.
Step 5: When you start working with the client, learn their brand colors, logo, target audience, and communication tone. Submit designs for approval and deliver in agreed formats.
For example, you can prepare a menu announcement, new product promotion and weekly event visual for a cafe. This is just an example project; It doesn't mean the customer will pay or that you'll make a certain amount of revenue.
